Analog Jetpack offical debut today

Today marks an important musical date for me, as my first album beyond solo work is being released on The Frozen Food Section label. It feels good to see it being getting out there, as the production of it was a long process, stretching from January to June this year for recording, and right up until last month with manufacturing. Before that, the band involved a long process of writing new material and polishing older stuff. The album features three songs we wrote on as a band, including one which we never managed to play live called "Robot Garden".

The album was produced by Jerome Maffeo, drummer of Jimmie's Chicken Shack, at his Right On Recording studio in Baltimore. We're fortunate to have the hot licks of his lead guitar player in JCS, Matt Jones. And with more solos and lead guitar is Spencer Chakedis of Deep Sound Diver and The Drive-By Proposals. He's also the antifolk producer of my second and third albums. These hands lend much soul to the project.

Friends, the album is good. I think you'll like it if you manage to purloin a copy. Help us crack the 500 record sales barrier in the first week. Buy one for your momma, you daddy and you tippy-toed granny. Hook up your neighbor. Make jubilant Christmas presents for all your co-workers. Myrrh is très gauche this season, because it has consecutive rr's followed by an h. Forget that.

Buy from any of the links below. If you purchase from the Paypal link at the bottom, I personally will drop a disk in the mail for you the same day, and you will have a hot orange envelope in your hot hot hands in a matter of hours. Together, we can make dreams come true.

Video PSA from the Frozen Foods. Go Vote.

Video redundancy for my blog readers:

Party peoples of the democratic republic of America,

Get out and "vote" today.

Get out and score some "ballot ass", as they say in West Virginia. Go get you a piece of hot hanging chad, or talk smut to a Diebold voting machine before it switches your vote to Republican. Seriously, go bag some electoral tail. I don't care who you vote for, just get out and "know" this election in the Biblical sense. And make your voice heard with a "climactic" change of leadership.

See, I live in the District of Columbia, and we don't have "representation" in Congress. I don't have a Congressman; I don't have a Senator. So we 600,000 citizens of the nation's capital don't get the same hot Congressional action that you all do. Oh, we get taxed, to be sure. And we see all your tawdry ads, and we get hot thinking about the macaca gaffe and whatnot, but we can't go to the voting booth to land the same sweet punchcard poon in the way you can.

I can't demand of my Senator why we've spent $500 billion in Iraq to build democracy when the citizens of our nation's capital don't have democracy. And in a similar way I can't urge my Congressman not to have sex with teenage boys.

Oh, I'm going to vote today, and I'll get that little sticker that lets everyone know that I had my way with the American electoral process. But as a resident of DC, not a vote I cast today can change the balance of Congressional support for the administration that says "no doi" to waterboarding. For the leadership that says, cut taxes for top 5%, and triple the national debt. Or for the White House that says, "I never said that".

Never in our lives has a change in leadership been such a mandate. Voting is imperative today. So go get you some civic booty.

The FFS Microwavable Podcast 5.0

I have an opinions segment this week on The Frozen Food Section's Microwavable Podcast. I argue that my buddy Calc2's art represents the attenuation of American society. It's all tongue-in-cheek. I don't actually believe his artwork is morally reprehensible, but it's always fun to play moral superior. It gives you the vicarious thrill of the fundamentalist perspective, that lack of perspective that claims God as its authority.

Also, for my Washington peeps, there's an interview of Stephanie Stone, owner of Capital City Records, which is closing this month.

And Analog Jetpack has a featured live song.

The Microwavable Podcast

Okay faithful readers, I need you today to be faithful listeners. Because I was up til 8 am to finish this on a self-imposed deadline.

The older generations (the Greatest, Gen-X, etc.) are having trouble comprehending what a podcast is. But I know us kids of the digital generation learn and adapt quickly. This is new media. This is hott stufff. (Triple-f! Gush!)

As many of you know, a podcast is a broadcast you can put on your iPod. It's an mp3. Just longer and not typically a song.

With this new media in mind, The Frozen Food Section brings you what my brother J-Toth describes as "BBC on crack". News, opinions, interviews, and a spy fiction radio play.

From here, we intend to acquire Sony/BMG and fix their witless DRM problems. That's how much money we plan to make off this free download: we're not merging with them. We're buying them out.

And then News Corp. YOU HEAR ME MURDOCH?!! WE WILL ABSORB YOU!!

But we'll give Tom clemency, because he has 50 million friends.

Anyway, click here and you can download from the Frozen Food Section:
